IN THIS ASSIGNMENT

The goal is to identify a leader using what we learned in class a great qualities of a leader and find one to study.

By the end of this assignment, students should understand key leadership qualities and be able to recognize them in others and themselves. Use google slides to complete this assignment.

Part 1: Research and Select a Leader

  1. Research:

    • Choose a leader from history, current events, sports, business, activism, science, or any other field of interest. Examples include figures like Mahatma Gandhi, Malala Yousafzai, Steve Jobs, Greta Thunberg, etc.

    • Ensure this leader is known for positively impacting their field or community.

  2. Identify Key Details:

    • Background: Briefly summarize the leader’s life and achievements.

    • Context: Explain the social, cultural, or economic challenges the leader faced.

Part 2: Analyze Leadership Qualities

Using the information from your research, describe the following about your chosen leader:

  1. Top Leadership Qualities:
    Identify at least three qualities that you believe are most essential in this leader (e.g., empathy, integrity, resilience, vision, communication, etc.).

    • For each quality, provide specific examples of how this leader demonstrated it.

  2. Impact of Leadership Qualities:

    • Describe how these qualities contributed to the leader’s success and impact.

    • Reflect on how these qualities influenced others and helped achieve their goals.

Part 3: Reflect on Personal Leadership Qualities

  1. Self-Reflection:

    • List three leadership qualities that you see in yourself or would like to develop.

    • Explain why each quality is important to you and how it can help you in different areas of your life (school, community, family).

  2. Personal Action Plan:

    • Create a short action plan for how you will work on one of these qualities over the next month.

    • Include specific steps (e.g., practicing public speaking to build confidence, volunteering to develop empathy, or improving time management).

Part 4: Present Your Findings (EXTRA CREDIT)

Prepare a brief presentation or visual (such as a poster or slide deck) to share:

  • The leader you chose, their qualities, and their impact.

  • Your reflections on your own leadership qualities and goals.
