Assignment: Scholarship and Grant Application
Objective:
In this assignment, you’ll research, find, and apply to two-three scholarships or grants that you’re eligible for, regardless of your grade level. By completing this assignment, you’ll get practical experience in searching for financial resources, writing application materials, and learning how to seek funding for school or other goals.
Directions:
Step 1: Research Scholarships and Grants
Find Three Scholarships/Grants
Your first task is to find two-three scholarships or grants that you’re eligible for. These could be related to academics, sports, community service, arts, leadership, or any other area of interest.
At least one scholarship or grant must require an essay or personal statement. This will help you practice writing for applications.

Record Details for Each Scholarship/Grant
For each of the scholarships or grants you find, write down these details:
Scholarship or grant name
Website or application link
Eligibility requirements (e.g., grade level, GPA, community service)
Award amount
Application deadline
Any required materials (like essays, transcripts, or recommendation letters)
Step 2: Apply to All Three
Complete All Application Requirements
For each of the three scholarships or grants, complete everything required in the application. This could include essays, recommendation letters, transcripts, or other documents.
Double-check deadlines and requirements to make sure each application is fully submitted on time.
Save Proof of Submission
Once you submit each application, take a screenshot of the submission confirmation, save any confirmation emails, or get any other form of proof that you applied. You’ll need to turn these in as part of this assignment.
Step 3: Reflection and Documentation (1-2 Pages)
Reflect on Your Experience
After applying, write a 1-2 page reflection about your experience. In your reflection, include:
What you learned about finding scholarships or grants.
Any challenges you faced in the application process and how you worked through them.
Insights you gained from writing essays or preparing other materials.
How you think this experience will help you with future scholarship or grant applications.
Turn In Your Work
Submit the following items:
Information sheet listing details for each of the three scholarships/grants you applied for.
Proof of submission for each application (like screenshots or confirmation emails).
Reflection essay (1-2 pages).
